Brad Pitt offered to leave film for Angelina

Brad Pitt offered to drop out of a movie to care for Angelina Jolie.
The 'Maleficent' actress had her ovaries and fallopian tubes removed last month after markers indicated she could have signs of ovarian cancer and her husband - with who she raises six children - promised to be by her side as much as she needed but was told to stick with his commitment to 'The Big Short' in New Orleans.
A source said: ''He offered to pull out of filming but that's the last thing Angelina wanted. Instead, he'll come back at least once a week and his mother has offered to help with the children.''
Meanwhile, Angelina's uncle Ron Martin - who was married to her late aunt Debbie - has spoken of how proud he is that the 39-year-old beauty, who carries the BRCA1 gene, meaning she has a high risk of cancer, has spoken out about her recent operation.
He told Grazia magazine: ''I'm very happy for her. It was tearful reading the article [about her operation] because you felt her pain whether she had cancer or not.
''She's done a great thing and she's a very private person, for her to expose her personal medical history to the public, she's doing it for a cause. She can save hundreds of lives.''

Angelina Jolie: What doesn't kill you makes you stronger

Last week Angelina Jolie inspired many with her bravery as she spoke out to reveal she has had her ovaries and fallopian tubes removed, as she was at an increased risk of developing ovarian cancer.
So it may come as no surprise that the 39-year-old actress subscribes to the motto “what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger”.
In an interview with Elle magazine, Angelina said: “I do believe in the old saying ‘What does not kill you makes you stronger.’ Our experiences, good and bad, make us who we are. By overcoming difficulties, we gain strength and maturity.”

Angelina, who has the BRCA1 gene, also had a double mastectomy two years ago.
She was speaking to Elle about her film Unbroken, the true story of Olympic runner Louis Zamperini, who survived in a raft for 47 days after a near-fatal plane crash during World War II, only to be captured and sent to a Japanese prisoner-of-war camp.
Angelina said: “Like many of the greatest human stories, it is about the capacity of regular men and women to rise above adversity. It reminds us never to give up, and that having the spirit to fight is what really matters. It is powerful because it speaks to the potential inside all of us.”

Angelina Jolie: How Unbroken Has Helped Me Over the Last Few Months

Angelina Jolie: Making Unbroken Helped Me Overcome Recent Challenges

Angelina Jolie's endeavor of bringing to life the World War II drama Unbroken resulted in much more than adding another directing credit to her lengthy professional résumé.

The Oscar-winning actress, 39, spoke with PEOPLE about the lessons she walked away with after working on the Louis Zamperini biopic that have helped her face personal challenges during the past few months.

"What has changed the most in my life from knowing and loving such a man as Louie is realizing the strength we possess as individuals," Jolie says, adding that she feels "lucky" to have been able to capture raw interviews with the real-life Zamperini, who died last year.

Unbroken, which was released on DVD March 24, tells the story of the famous Olympic runner and Army veteran who was captured by the Japanese navy and sent to a prisoner-of-war camp in the early 1940s. The war survivor was a man of faith, Jolie explains, which helped her become more mindful of her own spirituality.

"[He] has strengthened my beliefs and taught me to focus on what is important," she says of the hero.

"I've drawn on this as inspiration and will continue to as I journey through life and the twists and turns that come my way," the Mr. and Mrs. Smith actress says of the film.

And life has confronted her with recent twists and turns, including a health scare that motivated her to undergo surgery to remove her ovaries and fallopian tubes.

The mother of six penned a revealing personal essay for The New York Times, in which she explained her decision to choose the surgical method to prevent possible cancer in the future, which occurred for so many of her relatives due to a genetic mutation in her family's history.

Jolie wrote in the piece that she did not want her children to grow up and have to say that their mother died of cancer. Instead, she took action by following her 2013 double mastectomy with the second major operation.

"When there is an obstacle, you have to rise to the challenge, not be overwhelmed by it," she told PEOPLE in December.

Angelina Jolie on Struggle: "What Does Not Kill You Makes You Stronger"

Following an exciting weekend for Angelina Jolie, the actress opened up to Elle about her latest directorial effort with Unbroken. In honour of the DVD release of the film, the mother and humanitarian shared what she learned from Louis Zamperini's life and her artistic need to direct rather than act in movies. Angelina also shared some words of wisdom during the interview, saying, "I do believe in the old saying, 'What does not kill you makes you stronger.' Our experiences, good and bad, make us who we are." This isn't the first time Angelina has left a mark with her powerful words. She recently wrote a moving op-ed in The New York Times about her decision to remove her ovaries and fallopian tubes in order to prevent ovarian cancer, and over the weekend, she gave a short but compelling speech at the Kids' Choice Awards, saying, "Different is good." Keep reading to see what Angelina thought about her second time behind the camera and then see her, Shiloh, and Zahara have the time of their lives at the Kids' Choice Awards. On the challenges of making Unbroken: "I tend not to look back and dwell on a project once it is finished. But I do remember how intense the atmosphere was on-set filming some of the tougher scenes [such as] when Louie is being brutalised. It was very moving how always, after those scenes, the actors involved would check [and make sure that] everyone was okay and look out for each other." On the greatest lesson from Louie's story: "Like many of the greatest human stories, it is about the capacity of regular men and women to rise above adversity. It reminds us never to give up, and that having the spirit to fight is what really matters. It is powerful because it speaks to the potential inside all of us." On the idea that struggle helps you grow: "I do believe in the old saying 'What does not kill you makes you stronger.' Our experiences, good and bad, make us who we are. By overcoming difficulties, we gain strength and maturity." On the issues she would want America's media to highlight: "It is not really the nature of the news, but what we do with the information we have. We know more than ever before in history about conflict and injustice happening across the world, but the will to translate that knowledge into pressure and action at a global level somehow seems to be lacking. Time and again, after massacres and atrocities, the world says, 'never again.' But in Syria today, to take just one example, these things are happening with impunity in the full knowledge of the world. We need a greater focus on solutions—not just on information.

Fast & Furious stars' dream sequel cast: Angelina Jolie, Stallone

View image on Twitter

The cast for the Fast & Furious franchise is growing rapidly - not only is Jason Statham now a full-time addition, but action icon Kurt Russell makes a big screen comeback in this week's Fast & Furious 7.
With that in mind, Digital Spy sat down with the Fast cast to find out who'd be in their dream sequel lineup.

Angelina Jolie proved a popular choice with both Jordana Brewster and Nathalie Emmanuel, while Dwayne Johnson pitched the idea of his character Hobbs taking down Rocky and Rambo legend Sylvester Stallone.

Vin Diesel, the mastermind behind the Fast saga's recent success, refused to get specific, but he did voice his admiration for Last Witch Hunter co-star Michael Caine (even slipping into an impression, viewable in the video above!).

Fast & Furious 7 is released in cinemas worldwide today.
